About

Working at the intersection of realism and abstraction, I create large scale contemporary artworks exploring the relationship between identity, perception and the contrasts within contemporary culture.

My work is built on contrast: precision against abstraction, monochrome against colour, and careful control alongside spontaneous mark – making. Each portrait begins with many hours of detailed graphite drawing before being layered with acrylic paint, texture and graphic elements that become integral to the narrative.

Working on a large scale allows viewers to experience both the intimacy of fine detail and the impact of bold composition, encouraging engagement with the work from both a distance and close inspection.
